Dr. Michael Hawkins
Dr. Hawkins opened the Women’s Health Center of Dickson in 2001 and has practiced in Dickson County since 1996. He received his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Hawkins then attended medical school at Emory University from which he graduated in 1991. During his medical school rotations he developed a passion for obstetrics and gynecology, leading him to residency at Vanderbilt University which he completed in 1995. Dr. Hawkins is proud to have served the community for over 24 years as an OB/GYN. He has dedicated his life to maintaining and sustaining the Labor and Delivery unit at Tri-Star Horizon, where he has served as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chief of Staff, and Surgical Department Chairman.
Dr. Hawkins has three children, whom he delivered at Tri-Star Horizon, and is married to Brooke Hawkins. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and working on his farm.
Dr. Erin Steidl
Dr. Erin Steidl grew up in Houston, Texas. She attended David Lipscomb University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 with a minor in music. She then attended medical school at The Texas Osteopathic School of Medicine in Ft. Worth, TX. Dr. Steidl completed her residency at Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX in 2008, where she served as Chief Resident. She began practice after residency in Arlington, TX for four years prior to moving back to Tennessee for her dream job here in Dickson in 2012.
In her free time, Dr. Steidl enjoys running, baking, studying Spanish, reading, and spending time with her husband and children.
Brooke Hawkins, NP
Brooke is a nurse practitioner who has been practicing at the Women’s Health Center of Dickson since 2007. She attended Belmont University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation she began working as a labor and delivery, postpartum and newborn nursery nurse at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center. Brooke quickly realized her love of caring for women and decided to become a nurse practitioner and focus on women’s health. She again graduated from Belmont University, receiving a Master of Nursing Practice and later returned to complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
Brooke has two children with her husband, Dr. Michael Hawkins, and is a step mother to his oldest daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, crafting, and cooking. She is from Waverly, Tennessee, and is dedicated to providing quality care to women of this community.
Tina Thornberry, NP
Tina has been practicing at the Women’s Health Center of Dickson as one of our nurse practitioners since 2023. Prior to working at the Women’s Health Center, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse here at Horizon Medical Center. Seven of those years were spent serving as the Director of Women’s Services and our amazing NICU. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Austin Peay State University.
When she is not serving the needs of our community at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and tending to her little farm.
